Donald D. Dantzler Jr., a member of the Fitchburg City Council for the term spanning April 2024 to April 2026, brings a strong background in education, research, and community service to his role. With four and a half years of residency in the City and extensive professional experience, Donald is a valuable asset to the community. His career includes roles such as Senior Outreach Specialist at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research and Research and Innovation Strategist at the Madison Metropolitan School District, highlighting his expertise in data analysis, program evaluation, and strategic planning. Currently, he’s an Associate Research Scientist in the Socially Responsible Evaluation in Education Department (SREED) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Outside of his professional commitments, Donald is deeply engaged in volunteer work, mentoring through organizations like the Downtown Madison Rotary Club and the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc. SOAR Academy. Family-oriented with a supportive network including his mother, father, sister, and nephew, Donald values education, as evidenced by his pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He finds inspiration in Fitchburg's increasing diversity, seeing it as an opportunity to build a stronger, more vibrant community. In his leisure time, Donald enjoys exercising, traveling, reading, trying new foods and restaurants, watching horror movies, and listening to jazz music. His extensive involvement in various boards, commissions, and committees—including serving as Board Chairman for the Madison College Board of Trustees and as a member of the Police and Fire Commission in Fitchburg—showcases his commitment to effecting positive change and fostering community development.
