Lacy Road: Fitchrona to Seminole Highway

UPDATE: The Lacy and Seminole Roundabout will be closed June 18 and 19 for streetlight installation. Please use alternate routes.

The City of Fitchburg reconstructed Lacy Road, from Fitchrona Road to the Seminole Highway in 2023. This project included:

  • Conversion of the rural roadway to an urban roadway with curb and gutter and storm sewer. The roadway concept includes one vehicle lane and one bicycle lane in each direction, with a median in some locations and one multiuse path on the north side.
  • Streetlight improvements
  • Stormwater, water main, and sanitary sewer improvements
  • A roundabout at Seminole Hwy & Lacy Rd

Construction Update

Major construction is complete. Remaining work includes sign and streetlight installation. We are experiencing supply chain related delays with both the poles and meter cabinets. Installation is expected in Spring 2024.

Road Closures

Street light installation in the roundabout will require an intersection closure. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
