On May 24, 2018, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Fitchburg police officers responded to the intersection of Mckee Rd. and Verona Rd. for a two vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers learned that a two door sedan had rear ended a pickup truck at this intersection. The driver of the sedan fled on foot. Both occupants of the pickup truck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A search of the area along with a K9 track was conducted, but the driver of the sedan was not immediately located. The investigation is still ongoing. The Fitchburg Police Department was assisted by the Verona Police Department.
